Hardox 400
Hardened, wear-resistant fine-grain steel suitable for various applications in mechanical engineering. For decades, Hardox 400 has been the reference for wear parts in mining and construction machinery. Hardox 400 also offers diverse applications in general mechanical engineering. Weldable and flame-cuttable wear parts are often made from the even more wear-resistant Hardox 450. However, when higher ductility and machinability are required, Hardox 400 remains the right choice. This material retains high toughness even at cold temperatures.
Round bars made of Hardox 400 combine high strength with reasonably good machinability and excellent toughness. Hardox 400 round material is commonly used for axles in hammer mills, in agriculture, and for high-strength components in general mechanical engineering. The usual heat treatment is not required.
Hardox 400 sheet can be formed by bending and is easily weldable.
